Summer Days: Weekend Update

1. It was HOT this weekend. I know I am a wimp, but seriously it was hot. it was 102 on Saturday and that is just not okay with me. On Friday, I wasn't able to go swimming. There turned out to be no pool, but we did play miniature golf. These people have a 9 hole miniature golf course in their backyard. Each whole is named after a grandchild. Pretty cute idea, but really....how many times do you play mini golf in your backyard before you think...."Ok, I'm bored with this and wish I hadn't turned my WHOLE backyard in to a mini golf course??" But whatever, it was fun. And I was once again able to prove how much I suck at it.

2. The rehearsal dinner went REALLY well on Friday night. But boy was I exhausted afterward. I had to prepare for, serve and clean up after 50 people by myself after working all day long. It was fun, but I was definitely ready to be done. Plus, the AC wasn't working all that great to is was fryin hot as I ran around, and I am sure that I looked oh so attractive as I was sweating and turning bright red.

3. Saturday, although way too hot was a great day. Mom and Dad and I took Megan back to Wilsonville to play in the water and we had a blast. There were a lot of other people there to beat the heat. Afterwards we got frosty's and chicken nuggets. It really felt like summer. And no matter how many times you see Megan fill up her little bucket with water and then dump it on someone or herself.....it is still cute every time! Trust me. Then I BBQ'd on Saturday night and it was so relaxing and fun. Summer is here.

4. Sunday was a great "no-plans" day. Of course the day started out at church where Megan wore her ridiculously cute dress and LOVED the music. Everytime it would stop she would look at me and sign,"more." She started to get sleepy and wanted grandma to hold her. Megan and I were standing behind her and she kept pointing at grandma and making her "Ehhhh" noise. I looked at her and said, "no, stay with aunt Tami." To which she gave me this pitiful look and signed "please" while saying, "EEEZZZZE!" It was sad, and I couldn't resist any longer and gave her to grandma. After church I ate lunch downtown at Bridgeport brewery and bakery (this is where J & J had their wedding reception). It was fun. Then I got to take a 2 hour nap, which gave me enough energy to wash my car.....by hand. And the highlight of my weekend was finally being able to go swimming! And it was wonderful because it was so hot and sticky yesterday. It was amazing. J and J let us use their key to get into the pool at their condo. And I swam until the thunder, lighting and rain started (remember how I just said i washed my car...yeah, and then it had to rain). Anyway then off to the Ram for dinner with J & J. It was a nice, fun and relaxing weekend. I can't wait for the long weekend ahead of us. I get a 4-day weekend. YIPPEE!!! And I get to watch fireworks at the beach. Life doesn't get much better than that. 2 of my favorite things all wrapped up into one event.

Okay, I think that I have rambled on long enough. But I am super lonely at work today, so I wouldn't be surprised if I post again today.

Hi Aunt Stacy

Well, I did a video for you too and I can't get it to post.
It's retarded. But here is a picture of her waving, I am sure that she was thinking of you.

It's Friday, and I am excited!

  1. This is the first Friday that I have been excited for in a while. It may be because I get to spend tomorrow with Megan. :)
  2. I am serving tonight at my friends rehearsal dinner, making sure the food doesn't run out, clean dishes, cut desserts and have them set out, etc. Not too exciting for a Friday night, but happy that I can help. Then headed to a friends house where she is house-sitting. It's hot outside and there is a pool, so that should be fun. Hopefully it will be dark before I have to be seen in a swimming suit.
  3. This week was a weird week at work. A lot of things changing, that I am pretty anxious about. But we'll see how things work out. Change can be good sometimes.
  4. Two of my sisters are in Italy and I am officially jealous.
  5. I am trying out digital scrapbooking and I believe that it is going to prove itself to be very addicting and time consuming for me! Here are a couple more things I did real quick. They each took me about 10-15 minutes, but I doubt either one is in their final form yet.
  6. It is depressing when you blog and no one leaves you comments. I know that I am not all that interesting, but you'd think at least my family would care! :) SO TALK TO ME!!

Because You Loved Me

This is my VERY late Father's Day post.

It is hard for me to express everything I hold in my heart for my dad.
But I can tell you that he has a very BiG part of my heart.
I feel safe and secure with my dad. I have confidence in him that he will always take care of me, protect me and be there when I need him. He will be there to stand beside me when I am scared, he will celebrate with me when I experience triumph and he will pick me up and dust me off when fail. He will encourage me when I am down, laugh with me when I'm happy and give me advice and guidance when I am lost.

He is strong and gentle and stable. Most of my favorite memories involve him, and I am grateful that he was there. It is hard for me to talk about him sometimes, because I love him so much, and I can hardly think of how much he means to me without crying.

Dad, thank you for all you still do for me. But here are some of my favorite memories of you from when I was little.
  • Playing "bear" where you would tickle Kelly and I until it hurt
  • Playing crack the egg on the trampoline
  • You teaching Kelly and I how to use the "pulley" system you made for our tree house
  • Endless hours on the basketball court and thousands of games of Horse
  • When you would hook up the wagon to the lawn mower and give us rides
  • "Waffle, Waffle"
  • Pushing us so high on the tire swing that we could pull down branches from the fir tree
  • Laying on the hammock and telling you what we hear
  • Our nature walks across the street and "Captain Hook's" house
  • Playing shark everytime we would go swimming
  • The sock game
  • Our tent in the forest behind the house you made for us to play house in and camp out
  • Your ability to make a swing wherever we decided we wanted one
  • Pulling us around on a blanket over the wood floors as you ran
  • Throwing us up to the ceiling in the living room
  • Hearing your recliner closing when you were on your way down to our room to tell us to GO TO SLEEP!
  • The space girls stories you would tell us at bedtime
  • Teaching us how to shoot the BB gun
  • Playing the maze game down in the field when it would snow
I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. You may think we forget about these things because we are older now and don't tell you we appreciate you as much as we should. But we do remember, these things are what you did with us to make up our childhood. Thank you for loving us. I appreciate you dad and I love you. Happy Father's Day.

These are the lyrics to Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" song. I will always think of you when I hear it.

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see

For all the joy you brought to my life

For all the wrong that you made right

For every dream you made come true

For all the love I found in you

I'll be f
orever thankful
You're the one who held me up

Never let me fall

You're the one who saw me through, through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak

You were my eyes when I couldn't see

You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith cause you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach

You stood by me and I stood tall

I had your lov
e I had it all

I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much

But I know this much is true

I was blessed because I was loved by you
You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration

Through the lies you were the truth

My world is a better place because of you

I'm everything I am

Because you loved me

Water Baby!

It was quite warm today and Kristie had the great idea of taking Megan to play in the water in Wilsonville. We had tons of fun. And even ran into cousin Jenny and Luke and Sarah.
Look at all of Megan's CUTENESS!!

Uploading this video is taking forever! I have never posted a video before. Does it always take this long? I mean SERIOUSLY FOREVER! Okay, you will have to live without the video because it won't post. I don't know why.

Here's what happens when I'm bored...

I have been working on a wedding program for a friend, and had set a goal to have it done last night. But I got bored with it and started messing with some of my pictures.

Here's what came out of my boredom. It's cute, but i will probably still change it. What do you think? Of course I started with pictures of Megan, because she is so darn cute. Hopefully you will be able to see it okay on here.

And just in case you were wondering, I still haven't gotten the wedding program done. Can you guess what I will be doing tonight??

More RANDOMNESS

Okay, here are a couple pictures from last Christmas that I came across and either made me laugh or smile or both!

Here is Megan "loving" her new baby doll

And she got an ATV for Christmas, she looks pretty happy about it

This picture is just too cute to me! She looks so proud to be sitting in a big girl chair.
Okay, there is a story with this next picture... My sisters and I (minus Kristie) can be pretty goofy sometimes when we all get together. Stacy had the great idea of buying christmas turtlenecks from Walmart, just to be weird. And not that we are stuck up or anything, but we don't really shop at Walmart...okay, so maybe we are a little stuck up. Anyway, the 3 of us each bought a $5 christmas turtleneck to embarrass ourselves with. But while we were there we also saw these tacky "teacher sweaters." You know what I am talking about. Since Stacy is actually a teacher, we dressed her up. HILARIOUS. But the best part of it was that she refused to go to the dressing room to try on her teacher outfits. So while trying on different tacky sweaters, a walmart employee came over to us and said, "Uh, miss there are changing rooms over there." I about died. Stacy just looked at her and said, "I know. Thanks." or something to that effect.
SISTERS are FUN!
Oh yes, then later that night we decided to go visit Kristie in our christmas outfits since she wasn't with us on our little walmart outing. But what we weren't expecting was that her in-laws would be there. So yep, we made fools of ourselves. We walked in and Kristie and Josh, and Josh's parents just looked at us like..."what the"..... it was priceless.
