Thank Goodness for Dads and New Tires

I was incredibly blessed by my dad today!

I have been needing to buy new tires for while now, but just now have the money to do it.
I had been planning on doing this with D, since doing anything car related freaks me out that I will be taken advantage of. However, since he is longer available to me, my Daddy went with me!

I told him my budget and the price that I could absolutely not go over. However, I think he saw my look of horror when the very friendly man at Les Schwab printed out the quote and I couldn't even afford the very least expensive tires on his list. My Dad precedes to talk to the man about each tire and asks him to show them to us. Which was great, but at this point I was thinking....what is the point? I am going to have to wait a couple more months to save more. Then my dad says, "We'll take this one." Ummm, excuse me dad...what?! Of course, if you know my dad, you know that it wasn't the least expensive tire on the list.....but just to clarify, they were not the most expensive either. Anyway, so I am kind of freaking out inside.

We get to the counter and he gives the man his credit card and says "Charge....(an undisclosed ;) amount) to this card." Then looking at me says, "You can pay the rest Tamers (a term of endearment often used by my family and close friends) and you should still have enough money to get the alignment your car needs" (and even after the alignment I will come in about $70 UNDER budget). I wanted to cry. I was so incredibly thankful to him, but at the same time I feel bad. At what point in my life will I not need to mooch off my parents? But of course, I humbly accepted his help but tell him, "Dad, we don't need to buy those expensive tires." To which he responds by telling me that I will need those tires so I can make it over the mountain when I visit their vacation home in Central Oregon......oh, my life is so rough! NOT!

I have the greatest dad!! No, he isn't perfect, because no one really is. But he is just perfect for me and he LOVES me and our family. He works very hard to make sure we are provided for and have the best life possible. He is continually growing as a Christian man, husband, father, grandfather and just human being. I am SO PROUD to be his daughter. And you would be amazed at the tenderness of his heart. Thank so much Daddy.

I think buying tires is the manly dad way of helping heal his little girls heart. Along with, of course the breakfast date he asked me on for next week which I am so excited for. Love you Daddy.

I want to post a picture of my new tires, but I think the wires that connect my camera to the computer are at D's house...of course. Dang it. Maybe I will try to take a picture with my phone. I was so encouraged by my new tires today that I even took my car through the car wash! New tires make a HUGE difference in the way your car handles, it was like driving a new car! It was lovely!!!

New tires! YAY! (and yay for my camera phone)

New tires on a clean car...YAY!!!
